Carlock Public Library District invites residents of our Library District to run for Library Trustee in the April 2, 2019 election. At that time two new Library Trustees will be chosen to serve a term of six years.
To be eligible, a candidate must be 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the Carlock Library District for one year. The position is non-partisan and Trustees are elected at large.
Principal duties include attending Board meetings, setting policy, long-range planning, approving major expenditures, approving the budget, supervising the Library Director and being advocates to the citizens and legislators for the benefit of the Library.
Petitions for candidacy may now be obtained at the Library during all times the Library is open. Library Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 to Noon and 1:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday & Friday 9:00 to Noon and 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Each candidate is required to have a petition signed by a minimum of 13 voters registered within the boundaries of the Carlock Library District, which include the Village of Carlock and the townships of White Oak, Dry Grove, and Kansas. Candidacy petitions and other required documents are to be filed with the Carlock Library Director. The first day for filing candidacy petitions is Monday, December 10, 2018 and the last day for filing petitions is Monday, December 17, 2018.
