Our Summer Reading program may be different this year due to COVID-19 but that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun for everyone!! Our theme is “Childhood Favorites”. We want to read together, even if we can’t be together. Over the course of the next several weeks we’ll be encouraging you to post to Facebook so we can all see what books we’re reading, completed crafts and maybe a recommendation or two as you finish a new favorite! Childhood Favorites is also how our reading program is labeled in the Reader Zone online log.

Pre-K through 5th grade, mark your calendar for our kick off date of June 4th. Between the hours of 1-4, come to the back of the library to pick up a packet of information that will include information on how to sign up for our online reading log, the Reader Zone, a schedule for our weekly themed activities, a craft for the week, and a recipe or two that will match our Books inspire Hollywood theme. Also included are instructions for our community BINGO this weekend!

Middle schoolers/ high schoolers, we haven’t forgotten you! You may be in the adult program but we want you to share our excitement in our expanding graphic novel section! Checkout our Instagram as we post some of our new titles and explore all that graphic novels have to offer! Also, if you’re interested in receiving a packet with the weekly craft, just email us and we’ll have one ready for you.

Open to EVERYONE is our kickoff event! Friday, June 5 Marcus Bloomington Galaxy Theater 14 is providing movie theater popcorn to get you in the mood for our outside movie BINGO game. You can pick up a box of freshly popped popcorn, along with your family BINGO card, at the back of the library from 1- 4. The community Bingo will be available to play all day Saturday, June 6 & Sunday, June 7. Turn in your BINGO cards the following Thursday (June 11) and pick your prize for wining BINGO!!

Going forward packet pick up day will be on Thursday and the weekly planned outdoor activity will be on Monday & Tuesday.
